  • Run grove from anywhere: Grove commands now work from any directory within a grove-managed project, automatically discovering the bare clone repository
  • Shell integration: New shell-init command enables automatic directory switching with grove go by adding shell functions for bash, zsh, and fish
  • Update notifications: Grove now checks for new releases and notifies users when updates are available, with smart caching to check once per day
  • Path-only mode for grove go: Added -p/--print-path flag to output worktree path without changing directories (useful for shell integration)

Fixed

  • Fixed self-update to properly download over existing installation
  • Update notifications now log to stderr instead of stdout to avoid interfering with command output

Improved

  • Enhanced worktree discovery mechanism to find bare clones from any project directory
  • Added configuration management for suppressing shell integration tips after first display
  • Improved error handling across commands with centralized error formatting
